Re: Units in buildings
OK, thanks for the reply. Still seems odd to me that a column of infantry can march through dense woods but not through a group of scattered buildings.

Units in buildings
Can a unit be in the space occupied by a building without "occupying" the building; i.e. simply moving through a piece of difficult terrain rather than dispersing to defend it?

Re: Firing through unformed units
Well Roger, I would agree with most of what you have proffered, but infantry specifically is prohibited from shooting through detached skirmishers (p. 66), and the consensus (such as it is) appears to support the idea that though called unformed, disordered units are a different kind of unformed tha...

Re: Disordered Units
OK, so disordered infantry moves as a column, paying all appropriate costs for turns, lateral movement, backward movement, etc.

Re: Disordered Units
Thanks, I may be missing something but I don't see where page 23 answers any of the questions I asked, I know foot moves at column speed (6 MU), but since they have no formation exactly how do they move? Do they pay for turns? Can they move 6 MU laterally? Do they have a facing since they recover fr...

Firing through unformed units
The rules are fairly clear that artillery can fire though enemy skirmishers at formed units beyond, and that infantry can not fire through detached skirmishers. What about artillery and infantry firing through unlimbered artillery? Through limbered artillery? I would think that this is more likely t...

Disordered Units
I am a bit confused about exactly how to handle disordered units. I know they move 6 MU (for foot) and are not considered formed units. Does this mean they move like detached skirmishers (i.e. 6 MU in any direction, with free turns etc. as desired)? Does a disordered unit have a front, flanks, and r...
