Do battalion guns subtract the cohesion’s losses when firing by themselves

Interesting question. I can see it decided either way. Battalion guns only represent 2-3 individual guns while the mother unit represents 600-900 men, so losses to the parent unit could be considered largely irrelevant to the fire of the battalion guns, and so no. On the other hand, much the same thing can be said about skirmish fire generally, and we've always taken the minuses for losses for skirmisher fire, so in the interests of consistency yes. Of course, skirmisher fire overall is so minimal in effect that it may be that we've been doing this incorrectly and cohesion losses are not subtracted from skirmisher factors. I've learned that just because the RAW is silent on a subject doesn't mean it doesn't apply.

Another brain fart.

Looking at the player cards, battalion guns give a +1 at short range to their parent unit's salvo fire. I hadn't realized that there is no modifier indicated for their effective range "skirmisher" fire, so that is resolved at a +0 modifier.

But do detached skirmishes with 1 cohesion loss have their +1 or +2 reduced by a cohesion loss?

As the -1 by cohesion lost is in the "general modifiers section" , YES for all.

So Sk and regimental gun are less effective.

OK, so in this instance rules consistency wins out over (perhaps) common sense considerations such as those cited for light infantry deployed as detached skirmishers not losing their battalion guns when they meet the clearly stated conditions for a unit losing it's battalion guns. All perfectly clear now.

one cohesion less means,

less skirmishers, less guns, less troups, so less efficency. I see nothing wrong with this.

For the regimental guns, there is nothing officlal today. I think it's easy to said they are lost when split in skirmisher. But i understand the other point of vue.
