In our group of players we have some discussion regarding what happens to troops who are giving rear support to a unit but are at an angle to the supported unit as shown on page 48 support and orientation diagram units A1 and A4. If the unit A1 has to retreat or flee does this cause the unit A4 to become disorganised through passage of line issues (even though it has 1UD gap round it) or does it simply pass through the unit and stop retreating/fleeing as per page 60?
However its also just been brought to my attention the quick reference sheet the section on retreats and flees which does say if your within 1UD or not orientated in the same direction you become disordered.( but can't see this in the main body of the rules)
Comments from the wise would be welcome

Re: Troops at an angle in a position of rear support
Hi Adrian,
if you want to pass throught units without disordered them, you must be
Parallel AND no lesser than 1 UD from the rear and you must have 1 UD all around de passed units.

Re: Troops at an angle in a position of rear support
Yes that seems to be borne out in the QRS. I thought we must be missing something as the rules for rear support clearly say you can support a unit from behind with a unit at an angle. Really not a good idea and I am surprised the rules promote this

Yes it's possible, but for sure it's not a good idea. HOLD the LineAdrian Steer a écrit : ↑lun. 24 janv. 2022 12:04Yes that seems to be borne out in the QRS.
