Firefight clarification

Message par knightfast » mer. 16 févr. 2022 10:59

Just seeking a clarification on firefights.

2 units volley fire and no casualties are inflicted.
We believe no one tests, are we correct?

2 units volley fire, one suffers and attrition.
We believe that this is a firefight, the unit suffering attrition tests then the other tests. Are we correct?

2 units volley fire, one suffers attrition, one a loss.
We believe that this is a firefight, the until suffering a loss tests first, if it passes then the other unit tests.
If the first unit passes its test and chooses to withdraw in good order does the second unit still test as the first has retreated (albeit in good order)?

Are the outcomes the same if the 2 units simply skirmish fire at each other?

hi

if no casualties NO TEST.

So situation 1 : nobody test
situation 2 : only the units suffering the attrition test. If it pass the test the other one don't have to test.
Situation 3 : first the one loss then the attrition loss.

If the one loss unit retreat in good order did the other one have to test ??? i have to check the french rules to be sure.

It's the same for Skirmish fire .

Many thanks Olivier.

Be interested to see about the voluntary retreat one as it's sometimes a neat tactic.

Thanks

If the one loss unit retreat in good order did the other one have to test ???
So I have checked and if the unit retreats 2 UD by choice after passing, then the other unit no longer needs to test.

It makes sense. All the winners of the fire fight need to see is their opponent retreat. They would not, I think, be overly concerned about why they were backing off.
