morale and status comparisons - melee and firefight

1. How do you see the following comparisons working for melee combat purposes ?

a. M3 vs L2
b. L4 vs E3
c. I2 vs M1

According to the rules and amendments, first compare morale then if equal compare status. So, for these 3 circumstances, is the answer: i) +1 for the morale difference ONLY ?? ... or ... ii) does each unit get +1 each (for the morale and status differences) ?? ... or ... iii) do the morale and status differences cancel out and neither side gets anything on the basis that only the better of morale and status is counted ??

2. In case of needing to take a morale test after a firefight, I just want to confirm that ONLY morale is compared (ie not status) ? In the above examples, the L2, E3 and M1 units would take the test first ?

Hi.

First option . Status came after if units get the same moral. OR to increase the difference if the status difference is better than moral difference. Ex. E3 vs M2 . Moral give you +1 but status give you +2 so you take the status difference.
