If a charge is declared on a cavalry unit that starts from outside of 45 degrees of the front of that unit, is it able to countercharge ?
Or is that 45 degree arc only judged once the charging unit has moved either halfway or to 4UD ?
At the point of deciding that a countercharge isn't possible, then the target cavalry unit's only recourse is to either stand or flee ?

Re: cavalry countercharge and 45 degree arc
Hi.
You can counter charge when you opponent arrive in distance AND arc of charge. Sometime you are allowed to counter charge only for some milimeters.
If you opponent charge your front your are always allowed to countercharge.

Re: cavalry countercharge and 45 degree arc
That is not clear in the rules. We have played the original suggestion. The counter charge option is made when the enemy is at half distance or 4UD.
The rules state 'a counter-charge is like a charge'. We apply the rules as meaning the unit must fulfil the conditions of charging to be able to counter-charge.
