Commanders

With regard to commanders, the rule book mentions a CinC, (army or corps commander) and division commanders who recieve their orders from the CinC. Yet, I've noticed that in several scenarios (Teugen Hausen for example) that the army lists has both division and the individual brigade commnders, while other scenarios do not. My question is do these brigade commanders also roll for CP's? Can division commanders transfer CP's to subordinate brigade commanders? What criteria is used for including or not including them?
Thanks.

I would suggest that any game with 300 or fewer points would have only the C. in C rolling for C.P. Division commanders roll for their CP on activation. If there are too many points available for distribution by the C in C the mechanics of the order system will not work correctly. CP should be in short supply.

I agree. That was my source of confusion. What role do the brigade commanders play in the rules? Since they are listed with ratings in the scenarios, this would suggest that they roll for their own CP's. Since my interest is in early Revolutionary battles, I think I'll just stick with the CinC and Divisional commanders. I think this would more accurately reflect the inefficient command structure of the Ancien Regime armies of the period.
