Melee winner

Hi
Did we get this right?
Cavalry A1 charges cavalry B1 who counter charges.
After adding the factors and rolling the dice we get a draw (Melee).
They both have the same status so the defender wins.
Both are charging..... so both are attacking?....in the end we said the counter charging unit won because it wasn't the active player and therefore the defending side for that turn?
Is that correct?

Also what happens to a general who has lost all the units under his command (besides a court-martial)? Is he just removed from the table? If so does the enemy get any victory points for him?

cheers

Hi there

There was a question on the French forums that asked the same question and the answer was if there was a counter charge and draw result the original attacker stays as the attacker for a melee result

I think a General with no live troops just hangs around trying to stay out of the way.

And furiously writing dispatches with creative blame-storming.
