Artillery prep fire and movement

Message par Viking709 » mer. 8 janv. 2020 20:30

Can artillery prep fire and still be able to prolong during the movement phase?

Yes, but no +1 for stationary bonus
It can also fire then limber and move with a (-1 for moving) Unless C class where limbering up takes the whole movement

I don't think that artillery can prep fire and move. After it fires the artillery receives an action marker having completed the prep fire action, which coms before movement. On page 29 of the rules it states that artillery with an action marker may not move (but may flee).

I agree, I don't think any unit with an action marker can voluntarily move.

Found it P29, right hand column at the bottom, 3rd bullet Artillery with an action marker may not move (but may flee). Cavalry or infantry may move as normal.

But page 54 directly contradicts this! It states artillery may fire, limber and move. Further it may move, unlimber and fire. It gets an action marker even if it does not fire. Given that fire will be conducted in the next phase one is a little confused about when the action marker goes on.

It is perfectly correct

When you fire, you have to announce if you want to move after firing and apply the corresponding modifier.

The action marker is placed at the end of artillery activation.
Sometimes it can prevent artillery to move.
For example : Artillery do an opportunity fire ou do a return fire before its activation. When it is activated, it cannot move due to the action marker.
