Combat result
A combat between two infantry results in a retreat result. The loser reaches its cohesion limit and is eliminated. Does the winner pursue because the enemy is eliminated or can he not pursue because the combat result was only 'retreat'?

Re: Combat result
Replying to my own question
On a second reading it seems if a melee is won by any margin and the enemy routs then there can be a pursuit.

Re: Combat result
Hi roger,
you can find the answer on p6 of the FAQ.
Shock resolution - Page 58
• When a unit takes its last loss and is destroyed in a shock, the combat result is not changed. If the destroyed unit
is the winner of the combat, its opponent retreats or flees normally. If the destroyed unit lost the combat, its
opponent pursues only if the combat result allows the pursuit

Re: Combat result
Oh yes, thanks. I must have read this several times and not remembered it.!!
I shall point it out to my colleague who raised the issue.

Re: Combat result
Yes thanks Olivier, I'd carefully resizes the clarifications to fit into the rule book and stuck them in the book in the relevant pages but seemed to have missed this one by sods law! Checked the others and they are all there! Anyway a couple of additional questions if you don't mind the unit that was destroyed by cohesion being zero had a unit less than 1 UD behind it what happens to that unit does the destroyed unit disappear before making the retreat action ( hence no passage of line issue). Also if the unit was destroyed by Fire combat alone would this effect a unit less than 1UD behind? As far as I can see - no effect!
Re: Combat result
Hi Adrien,
sorry for the delay , but it was the first BE tournament since 2 years so i was a little bit busy.
To answer you, P58, "Routed unit"
FOr me it's the same consequences. If there is a unit less than 1 UD to the rear of the destroyed unit (excepted artillery p62) , the unit goes to disorder.
